Admission Policies for the Diploma Course at National Institute of Technology, Matsue College

We hope students will be admitted to our college with, the talent to be engineers, a positive attitude in learning, the motivation to create, and the capacity to take challenges. Specifically, the students should;

Basic Policy for Student Selection

The candidates for the entrance examination are the students who are expected to graduate from Junior High School or who have graduated from Junior High School.

I. Admission through Recommendation

In the entrance examination with recommendation, the candidates must correspond to all of the following (1) through (3) and must be recommended by the school principal. Then, the selection is to be conducted in a general way on the basis of the school record, an interview, the recommendation letter by school principal and the score of an achievement test on Mathematics.

(1)Have an excellent personality.

(2)Have a great intention to become an engineer in the future and the aptitude as an engineer.

(3)Have an academic record higher than the level specified by our college.

II. Admission through Achievement Tests

In the entrance examinations through achievement tests, the selection is to be conducted in a general way on the basis of the school record and the score of achievement tests on 5 subjects (Japanese, Mathematics, English, Social Studies and Science).

III. Transfer Admission

The selection is to be conducted in a general way on the basis of the school record, an interview, the score of achievement tests on Mathematics, English and the specialized subject in Engineering or Physics.

Reiwa 4 Year Entrance Examination

If an applicant for admission to Matsue National College of Technology is unable to take the entrance examination due to an infectious disease such as the new coronavirus, a supplementary examination will be held. However, if there are no applicants, a supplementary examination will not be held.

We will hold a briefing session on the National College of Technology entrance exam, in which our faculty will analyze past questions and explain how to prepare for the exam.

* This does not apply if you are unable to attend. Please attend the session that is most convenient for you.

Since other events will be held at Kunibiki Messe on that day, the parking lot is expected to be crowded (Paid parking is available nearby).

All venues are expected to be crowded. Please note that only one parent/guardian per family is allowed to participate in this event. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Please note that parents, teachers, and school staff may be seated only in chairs.

Due to the social situation, there is a possibility that we may have to refuse participation from areas where a state of emergency has been declared, or cancel or postpone the briefing. In such a case, we will notify you via our school website, e-mail, etc.

* From the selection of students for admission in the Heisei 30 year (2018) academic year, the essay (in the mathematical field) for the examination for recommendations has been abolished, and the written exam (in mathematics) has replaced it.
