【General】Science and Humanities (Common for all departments)

At our school, subjects other than specialized subjects are collectively referred to as “general subjects. These are an extension of the subjects learned in junior high school, and are almost the same as those offered in regular high schools. The general subjects at Matsue National College of Technology cover a wide range of academic fields and are designed to enable students to learn more advanced knowledge in order to develop a broad perspective and a rich humanity, while focusing on basic studies for specialized subjects.

【Specialty】 Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is a physics-based discipline that forms the backbone of “manufacturing”. In this department, students learn fundamental theories and technologies such as material mechanics, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.

〔Educational Objectives〕

The Department of Mechanical Engineering aims to develop practical engineers who can contribute to the core field of “Monozukuri” by acquiring theory, knowledge and technology in the field of mechanical engineering.

【Specialty】 Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

In the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, students learn the technologies for creating and using electrical energy, the technologies for using energy to enrich our lives, the technologies for protecting our safety, and the information and communication technologies that support our computer society.

〔Educational Objectives〕

To develop practical engineers who can contribute to the fields of energy, electronics, and computers by acquiring theory, knowledge, and skills in the field of electrical and information engineering.

【Specialty】 Control Engineering

In the Department of Control Engineering, students learn the knowledge and skills of mechanics, electricity, and information not only in the classroom, but also through an effective combination of experiments and practical training, while actually using their bodies.

〔Educational Objectives〕

To develop practical engineers who can contribute to a wide range of fields such as mechatronics and system control by acquiring theories, knowledge, and techniques in the field of electronic control engineering.

【Specialty】 Information Engineering

In the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, students learn not only computer programming technology, but also hardware technology and communication technology in a well-balanced manner.

〔Educational Objectives〕

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering aims to develop practical engineers who can contribute to the development of an information society by acquiring theories, knowledge, and skills in the field of information engineering.

【Specialty】 Civil and Environmental Engineering

The Department of Civil Environmental Engineering provides education and research that not only meets the needs for advanced civil engineering technology, but also considers the environment.

〔Educational Objectives〕

The Department of Civil Environmental Engineering aims to develop practical engineers who can contribute to the development of various social infrastructures by acquiring theories, knowledge, and technologies in the fields of environmental and construction engineering.

【Advanced Engineering Faculty】

After graduating from the main course, students can continue their studies and research for another two years in the major course, which consists of two majors to further enhance their professional skills.

Department of Production and Construction Systems Engineering

〔Educational Objectives〕

The purpose of this course is to develop engineers who can acquire more advanced theory, knowledge, and technology in the field of mechanical engineering or environmental and construction engineering, and who have the ability to find and solve problems and be creative in the relevant fields or their boundary and fusion areas.

Department of Electronics and Information Systems Engineering

〔Educational Objectives〕

The purpose of this program is to develop engineers who can acquire more advanced theories, knowledge, and skills in the fields of electrical engineering, electronic control, and information engineering, and who have the ability to find and solve problems and be creative in these fields and their interdisciplinary/interdisciplinary areas.
